When Babs was diagnosed with Stage IV ovarian cancer in October of 2000, her family and friends rallied around her. Babs’ smile instantly lit up a room and her loving spirit touched so many within our community. When she lost her courageous fight in 2004, Babs’ family knew that they needed to do more to find a cure for ovarian cancer. They did not want other families to go through the pain and suffering that they had experienced. With an outpouring of participation and generosity from the community, in 2005 the Fisher Family started a special gala auction. Now known as the Family and Friends Auction, this event has become one of Rivkin Center’s signature fundraising events.
