This picture was taken in 2004, the first year of Team Krista. Krista is standing on the right. She was diagnosed in September 2003 at age 18. She is standing with her friend and fellow chemo buddy, Barb. Krista and Barb both tried everything available at the time to fight this awful disease. Krista was 22 years old when she left her cancerous body behind and went on to better times in 2007. Barb left a few months before Krista. Krista lived an optimistic life in spite of her failing body. She is my hero. She would say “It is what it is” and $#@% cancer. This will be our 17th year of Team Krista. GO TEAM KRISTA!
