Mary Anne loved the SummeRun because, among other reasons, it helped give her purpose as she battled ovarian cancer. She believed deeply that the key to improving womens’ chances to manage and eventually beat the disease was research and dedicated herself to raising money for the Rivkin Center’s work. Her involvement with the SummeRun gave her hope, if not for her survival, but for that of others in the future. The SummeRun, the Rivkin Center, and Saul Rivkin helped Mary Anne focus her time and energy on the best of causes. While she eventually succumbed to ovarian cancer she was never bitter or angry and never lashed out at people. Team Mary Anne continues to honor Mary Anne’s life and memory by supporting the wonderful work and staff of the Rivkin Center.
