Schelaine loved people. All people. She did not see colors, religions or orientations. In all her travels, whether within the US or to Mexico, Europe or Iran, she was always gracious, greeted everyone with a smile and the genuine warmth of a longtime friend. Schelaine was put on this earth was to be a wife and a mom. Simply, you won’t find anyone better. She was always ready to do whatever her kids, Ariana and Arshan, wanted to do.
Schelaine’s strength and positive outlook in dealing with her incurable cancer was inspiring. She promised to “Live to Live, not Live to Die” and she kept that promise. Every time we had a set back with either cancer returning or a trial medicine not working, she would pause and say, “Well, what’s next?” She would then move on to another medicine with a smile as if the cancer did not exist. She was an upbeat, positive, glass always full, life is great type of person – even when faced with a grim future. She was an amazing person who left us too soon.
Schelaine was, is and always will be an amazing person whose warmth and love lives on in all who knew her.
