Isabella’s motivation and inspiration stem from her mother’s three-year battle with ovarian cancer, and passing from the disease at age 50. Isabella is currently a medical student at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine working towards earning her MD degree. Before starting medical school, she graduated from the University of Texas at Austin (hook ’em!) and went on to spend two years conducting ovarian cancer research at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle, WA. She is very passionate about helping to empower women to advocate for their pain and believes that storytelling is one of the most powerful tools we have. Regardless of what specialty she pursues in the future, she knows one thing for certain—she will always be a driven and empathetic ovarian cancer advocate. When she’s outside of the hospital she enjoys finding new places to eat with her husband, art journaling, and going on long walks with her French bulldog, Toby.
